First-ever 360 degree audio live broadcast
Our friends at Upload recently held an amazing VR demo night at their new Collective space in San Francisco.
We unveiled some new Samsung Gear demos, highlighting our super high clarity audio capture/stitching technology.
The event also marked the first ever live VR audio broadcast, where attendees got to experience our live-captured spherical audio over headphones with full spatialization and 360 degree motion-tracking.
Here’s how it worked:
We put RondoMic — our custom 360° microphone array — in the middle of the crowded event space. Then, in our demo room, people put on headphones and were able to interact and move around in the live virtual space exactly as if they were there.
Reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with a lot of open jaws and “That’s crazy!” type-responses. So it was a win.
From concerts to sporting events, the live VR/360 broadcasting market is exploding and our interactive audio technology adds a critical layer of location awareness and realism to these live experiences.
It’s a very exciting time for us because we’re the only VR audio solution that supports 360° audio for live broadcast/streaming. But live broadcast is just one piece…
We’ve been hard at work building out a revolutionary end-to-end solution for hyper-realistic VR audio, from capture to post-production to playback. Stay tuned for some really exciting announcements there, and get in touch if you’d like to learn more or discuss partnerships in the meantime.
